Had a great turnout with lots of delicious chili......12 to be exact. Most we've ever had! Some learned about GPS Basecamp use, some just tasted and enjoyed motorcycle chat while checking out the 'bike of their dreams'! A good time was had by all.
Wild West in 7 days!
Stop dreaming and putting off the trip off that you always wanted to take.
Come and learn how few good friends and the "other guy" got together and planned one of the best off road weeks ever. It took a little bit over 24 hours to transport bikes from Rochester, NY to Colorado Springs, CO, drive was flat and long but what followed after was breathtaking and life altering. This journey takes 5 diverse riders through Colorado's and Utah's backcountry roads. Distance? Almost 2000 miles. Cost? Under $1000. Memories? Forever. This will be interactive presentation where you will learn on what it takes to plan and take a trip like this. We will walk through each day of the trip and share our experiences. If you are not lucky enough yet to experience off road riding this journey will have you cross to the other side or leave you drooling for rest of the day - tissues will be provided
Doc aka Wayne Edkin & wife Robin, who do lots of motorcycle touring on their K1200LT sidecar rig, gave a very informative 'Traveling to Newfoundland' Presentation. These questions were answered: how hard is it to get there? Weather, packing, planning? Are there places to stay? How big is that place? Robin and Doc Edkin shared tips and tales of their recent sidecar adventure to this Canadian Maritime province and showed lots of beautiful pictures. Everyone enjoyed the Presentation and there may be some serious motorcycle travel in the future for some. We thank the Edkins for taking the time to share their adventure.
Click on the above photo to see a fabulous photo slideshow from the Edkins.
35 folks enjoyed Marcin's presentation about National Parks touring. On a 9 day tour some of the Parks visited included Zion, Arches, Bryce & the Grand Canyon. Miles traveled/day varied from approximately 200-450. Input from customers was very positive with regard to roads traveled, sights seen, accommodations, organization etc. Marcin is planning more tours in 2017. Note photo of list. Start planning now and let Country Rode help you obtain the items needed to take a motorcycle trip like this. Example of items you might need are: cooling vests, riding apparel, heated liners, helmets, tire repair kits, small tools, etc.

35 folks enjoyed Jon Delvecchio's 5 Top Aha (learning) Moments Presentation. Plenty of audience interaction and lots of follow up socialization. We'll bet everyone went away having learned at least one important thing! Here are the 5 Top learned techniques: 1. Throttle adjustment; 2. Body position; 3. Brake Application; 4. Smooth Shifting; and 5. Trail braking. Thanks to Jon www.streetskills.net for a great educational seminar
Here are the 'Gentleman' on the Country Rode Team who rode on Sunday. Everyone completed the ride and had a great time. It was a fun ride full of curves, circles, turns and some great city views. Thanks to all of you who sponsored our team and thanks to Rome Celli for putting the ride together for a very worthy cause.
It didn't rain and was a beautiful day for our Track Tour. We had a 30 bike turnout and the 30 folks had great tour on the newly paved track. It was also fun watching the sports cars on the track beforehand.
We apologize that no photos while riding on the track were taken. There was miscommunication with the Photographer and it has been confirmed that photos were not taken. We regret that as we know it's always fun to find your photo
Otherwise, everyone seemed to have a fun time. Below is a quote from Kevin Dix who rode his Triumph.
"Great day at Watkins Glen International Raceway, got in the three laps. The officials cracked down on passing and speed a bit so I had to be relatively "good". Still got in some passes and speed is good any time. When we arrived there were some little four cylinder Chapparal type racers going at it. Then the Miata's, VW, Excort, and Volvo/Saabs took the track. Finally they let us loose!
Thank you Art and Lyn Elting and Watkins Glen for a great time."

We did not wish to miss the opportunity of a ride on the newly paved track. More info can be found on the Track Tour event. Hope that you join us.
Our 3rd dinner ride was to the Pultneyville Deli in Pultneyville where they have great salads & sandwiches. Nice ride on Lake road to get there too. 6 of us had a super ride on some neat roads that Ron found to challenge us. Then we had some delicious sandwiches and salads sitting outside at the Deli. If you get a chance to stop there it's worth the visit. Unfortunately, Lyn forgot to take photos as she was having such a fine time. Sorry you missed it.

December 12th and lots of motorcycles parked in the CRM lot.
Who would expect to see that. Nice turnout for the 'Rider's Top Ten' Presentation by Jon DelVecchio, Rider Coach. Great discussion and interest from the audience. Always good to be reminded of the safety things to be aware of when our bikes. Sometimes we get a bit complacent and forget to pay full attention to riding techniques.

Jon DelVecchio from Street Skills will be here to discuss a "Top 10" list of things to do that will make you truly rise to the top among riders! It will be good material to mull over during the non riding months and practice when riding season starts up.. www.streetskills.net

Each Club has their own focus on different aspects of riding & being part of a Club. Be sure to take this opportunity to talk to the members. We've had folks ask us about finding people to ride with so meeting these Club members might give you some insight.
Bring your "Honey" or anyone you would like to share your passion with.
Don't forget to inform your family about your Country Rode wishlist. Remind them that a gift certificate is good toward anything (even that bike you want)!
